Recording the time of day. The recording of the time-of-day (TOD) information (e.g., hours, minutes, and seconds) is an important part of a prolonged EEG and video study. The transcribing techniques for this information on paper (chart recorders), video tape, analog tape, and by digital computers are reviewed.
