Serum C-reactive protein (CRP) was measured using the CRP Human ProcartaPlex Simplex Kit. Serum lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP) was also measured using Human LBP ELISA Kit. Random blood glucose (RBG) and glycated hemoglobin or hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) were measured using blood glucose meter and Haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) (Human) ELISA Kit, respectively. All commercial assays were performed according to manufacturers’ instructions."}
