The supernatants from infected cells were analyzed by multiplexed ELISA for the presence of secreted cytokines and chemokines. For RNA analysis, cells were lysed in TRIzol and total RNA was extracted and DNase treated using the Direct-zol RNA Miniprep Plus kit (Zymo Research) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. For protein analysis, whole cell lysates were obtained by lysis in RIPA buffer and analyzed by SDS-PAGE and western blot."}
