{"target":"https://pubannotation.org/docs/sourcedb/PMC/sourceid/6174286","sourcedb":"PMC","sourceid":"6174286","source_url":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/6174286","text":"ARL3 is a highly conserved gene, and its encoded protein, the small G-protein ARL3, localizes to the cilium and is crucial for ciliogenesis and axoneme formation, as well as cargo displacement of lipidated proteins in the cilium.13 ARL3 variants have also been reported in association with retinal dystrophy.14 Among ARL3 effectors are the GDI-like solubilizing factors (GSFs) PDE6D, UNC119A, and UNC119B, whose interactions are guanosine triphosphate (GTP) dependent.
