This versatile glucan has potential applications in various industries, including food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. In addition, OL-2 is known for its promising applications as a biomaterial and drug, owing to its reported antitumor and antiseptic properties. Although the biological activities of β-glucans vary depending on their primary structure, holistic clarification of OL-2 via solution NMR spectroscopy to ascertain its complete and unambiguous structure has not yet been achieved. In this study, a chain of solution NMR techniques, such as correlation spectroscopy, total correlation spectroscopy (TOCSY), nuclear Overhauser effect and exchange spectroscopy, 13C-edited heteronuclear single quantum coherence (HSQC), HSQC-TOCSY, heteronuclear multiple bond correlation, and heteronuclear 2-bond correlation pulse sequences were used to unambiguously assign all 1H and 13C atoms in OL-2. Based on our investigation, OL-2 consists of a 1,3-β-glucan backbone chain decorated with a single 6-branched β-glucosyl side unit on every fourth residue.","tracks":[{"project":"Glycosmos6-GlycoEpitope","denotations":[{"id":"T1","span":{"begin":95,"end":99},"obj":"http://purl.jp/bio/12/glyco/glycan#Glycan_epitope"},{"id":"T2","span":{"begin":135,"end":139},"obj":"http://purl.jp/bio/12/glyco/glycan#Glycan_epitope"},{"id":"T3","span":{"begin":335,"end":339},"obj":"http://purl.jp/bio/12/glyco/glycan#Glycan_epitope"},{"id":"T4","span":{"begin":583,"end":587},"obj":"http://purl.jp/bio/12/glyco/glycan#Glycan_epitope"},{"id":"T5","span":{"begin":1097,"end":1101},"obj":"http://purl.jp/bio/12/glyco/glycan#Glycan_epitope"},{"id":"T6","span":{"begin":1131,"end":1135},"obj":"http://purl.jp/bio/12/glyco/glycan#Glycan_epitope"}],"attributes":[{"id":"A2","pred":"glycoepitope_id","subj":"T2","obj":"http://www.glycoepitope.jp/epitopes/AN0628"},{"id":"A5","pred":"glycoepitope_id","subj":"T5","obj":"http://www.glycoepitope.jp/epitopes/AN0628"},{"id":"A1","pred":"glycoepitope_id","subj":"T1","obj":"http://www.glycoepitope.jp/epitopes/AN0628"},{"id":"A6","pred":"glycoepitope_id","subj":"T6","obj":"http://www.glycoepitope.jp/epitopes/AN0628"},{"id":"A3","pred":"glycoepitope_id","subj":"T3","obj":"http://www.glycoepitope.jp/epitopes/AN0628"},{"id":"A4","pred":"glycoepitope_id","subj":"T4","obj":"http://www.glycoepitope.jp/epitopes/AN0628"},{"subj":"T1","pred":"source","obj":"Glycosmos6-GlycoEpitope"},{"subj":"T2","pred":"source","obj":"Glycosmos6-GlycoEpitope"},{"subj":"T3","pred":"source","obj":"Glycosmos6-GlycoEpitope"},{"subj":"T4","pred":"source","obj":"Glycosmos6-GlycoEpitope"},{"subj":"T5","pred":"source","obj":"Glycosmos6-GlycoEpitope"},{"subj":"T6","pred":"source","obj":"Glycosmos6-GlycoEpitope"}]},{"project":"GlyCosmos6-CLO","denotations":[{"id":"T1","span":{"begin":490,"end":500},"obj":"http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/CLO_0001658"}],"attributes":[{"subj":"T1","pred":"source","obj":"GlyCosmos6-CLO"}]}],"config":{"attribute types":[{"pred":"source","value type":"selection","values":[{"id":"Glycosmos6-GlycoEpitope","color":"#ecab93","default":true},{"id":"GlyCosmos6-CLO","color":"#9395ec"}]}]}}
