Recently, the incidence of this disease is increasing. Diagnostic process has improved by means of newly developed laboratory methods. Ocular findings on retina are in toxocariasis identified very late. Despite many antihelmintics, steroids and surgical treatment, a poor treatment success has been achieved, and the sight remains often permanently severely affected. Because of the risk of blindness the most efficient arrangement is prophylaxy from the side of parents, teachers, veterinarions and the society as a whole.
