The unadjusted models indicate that for every 1 μg/m3 increase in the long-term exposure to NO2 and PM2.5 the COVID-19 mortality risk increases. After considering the effect of confounding and spatial autocorrelation there is still some evidence of an effect, albeit is less strong, for NO2, while for PM2.5 there is larger uncertainty.
