The political and health authorities are making an extraordinary effort to halt the shock wave which is seriously challenging the health system globally. Currently, therapeutic options are limited and preventive attempts to minimize social transmission are our best defence weapons. Researchers are working diligently to find novel and/or repurposed therapeutic options to prevent and treat this global pandemic.
