The patients in the most stringent definition group had more visits, and therefore better follow-up, focusing on their epilepsy diagnosis. For caregivers, this finding reinforces the importance of prioritizing the epilepsy diagnosis, communicating with patients about the diagnosis and its implications, and addressing barriers to treatment. Given the many effective treatments for epileptic seizures, Kalilani et al’s documentation of a “treatment gap” after diagnosis highlights the need for better follow-up and earlier treatment implementation after diagnosis.","tracks":[]}
