Its etiopathogeny is intimately related to changes in fibrinolysis24. This process involves inflammatory cells such as neutrophils, monocytes and macrophages, as well as the release of inflammatory mediators and cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor alpha, fibrin synthesis, fibroblast migration, and collagen synthesis. The increase in inhibitors of plasminogen activating factor determines the impairment of plasmin synthesis, which reduces the degradation of fibrin formed during the initial inflammatory phase of the tissue repair process24. The consequent reduction in fibrinolysis contributes to the organization of the fibrin matrix, which determines the appearance of adhesion points between two opposing injured peritoneal surfaces. The migration of fibroblasts contributes to the synthesis of several types of collagen and adhesion maturation, which is also marked by neovascularization and the appearance of new nerve branches and mesothelialization. The presence of suture threads and prosthetic material, such as reticulated meshes used for the repair of abdominal wall defects, are considered as adjuncts contributing to the formation of intraperitoneal adhesions, which, in direct contact with the injured peritoneal surface, contribute to the appearance of adhesions24-25.","tracks":[{"project":"2_test","denotations":[{"id":"31432994-17824966-396052","span":{"begin":350,"end":352},"obj":"17824966"},{"id":"31432994-17824966-396053","span":{"begin":828,"end":830},"obj":"17824966"},{"id":"31432994-17824966-396054","span":{"begin":1568,"end":1570},"obj":"17824966"},{"id":"31432994-29513808-396054","span":{"begin":1568,"end":1570},"obj":"29513808"}],"attributes":[{"subj":"31432994-17824966-396052","pred":"source","obj":"2_test"},{"subj":"31432994-17824966-396053","pred":"source","obj":"2_test"},{"subj":"31432994-17824966-396054","pred":"source","obj":"2_test"},{"subj":"31432994-29513808-396054","pred":"source","obj":"2_test"}]}],"config":{"attribute types":[{"pred":"source","value type":"selection","values":[{"id":"2_test","color":"#93d8ec","default":true}]}]}}
