A sterile square glass coverslip was inserted horizontally in each well and incubated at 37 °C in a static condition for two-time intervals (12 h, 24 h). Biofilm staining was carried out with Syto9 (Invitrogen, California, United States) as described previously [42]. The slides were then observed using a Nikon Eclipse Ti Confocal Laser scanning inverted microscope (Nikon Instruments Corporation, New York, United States).
