To know the main functional groups present on the adsorbent and their interaction with the metal ions, Fourier transform Infrared (Bruker UK, ATR) analysis was performed. The adsorbent was also characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique using X-ray diffractometer with Cu Kα radiation (λ = 1.5406 Å).
