In order to identify such gene-pairs, we applied thresholds on their absolute Pearson Correlation Coefficient (PCC) values. These thresholds were 0.545 and 0.54 for parental and resistant conditions, respectively, which we selected from the corresponding distributions of all-pair absolute PCC values with the purpose of considering approximately the top 20% gene-pairs as pairwise relationships only. Applying these thresholds to the relationship values, 27,865 and 26,865 pair-wise relationships were identified in parental and resistant data matrices, respectively."}
