A study focused on the therapeutic effect of LBPs on neurogenesis and learning and memory of manganese poisoned mice. Healthy adult Kunming mice were used. The spatial learning and memory capacity of mice was determined by the Morris water maze training test. The neurogenic cells were labeled with bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) and detected by immunohistochemistry. The average escape latency was significantly higher and the times of passing through platform were lower in the manganese treated group. BrdU-positive cells in the LBPs-treated group were significantly more than those in the manganese-treated group.
