The intermediate effects of propranolol are due to a downregulation of both VEGF and bFGF resulting in inhibition of proangiogenic cascade and angiogenesis. The long term effect of propranolol is due to apoptosis resulting in regression of haemangiomas.[41] This may be the reason for its use in the post proliferative phase.[41]"}
