Thirty eight children without ADHD were recruited in the community and served as the control group (control). All participants were Caucasian and were third generation French Canadians. Children who had an intelligence quotient (IQ) below 70 (as assessed by Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children IV or Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence III)28 or who had a pervasive developmental disorder or psychosis were excluded.
