To treat bleeders, honey and aloes were given orally. Sometimes the white of an egg was included. Additionally, pureed lemon juice was syringed into the horse's nostrils, this was said to curb bleeding by acting as an astringent. Watercress (Nasturtium officinale) was put in horses' food to \"increase their blood count.\" Vervine (Stachytarpheta jamaicensis) and kudzu (Pueraria phaseoloides) plant tops were fed as high protein feeds.","divisions":[{"label":"Title","span":{"begin":0,"end":72}}],"tracks":[{"project":"NEUROSES","denotations":[{"id":"T260","span":{"begin":270,"end":275},"obj":"PATO_0000323"},{"id":"T261","span":{"begin":420,"end":430},"obj":"CHEBI_74783"},{"id":"T262","span":{"begin":486,"end":490},"obj":"CHEBI_33290"},{"id":"T263","span":{"begin":516,"end":521},"obj":"PATO_0000070"},{"id":"T264","span":{"begin":618,"end":622},"obj":"PATO_0000469"},{"id":"T265","span":{"begin":623,"end":630},"obj":"CHEBI_16541"},{"id":"T266","span":{"begin":623,"end":630},"obj":"CHEBI_36080"}],"attributes":[{"subj":"T260","pred":"source","obj":"NEUROSES"},{"subj":"T261","pred":"source","obj":"NEUROSES"},{"subj":"T262","pred":"source","obj":"NEUROSES"},{"subj":"T263","pred":"source","obj":"NEUROSES"},{"subj":"T264","pred":"source","obj":"NEUROSES"},{"subj":"T265","pred":"source","obj":"NEUROSES"},{"subj":"T266","pred":"source","obj":"NEUROSES"}]}],"config":{"attribute types":[{"pred":"source","value type":"selection","values":[{"id":"NEUROSES","color":"#96ec93","default":true}]}]}}
