Bacteria from the Burkholderia cepacia complex (Bcc) cause highly contagious pneumonia among cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. Among them, Burkholderia cenocepacia is one of the most dangerous in the Bcc and is the most frequent cause of morbidity and mortality in CF patients
