What is already known about this subject? During the increase in COVID-19 cases, health authorities established the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by health professionals. Face masks are recommended as a simple barrier to help prevent respiratory droplets from travelling through the air and reaching others when the person wearing the mask coughs, sneezes, speaks or raises his voice. In ‘front-line’ work, wearing masks can be time consuming. Although highly effective masks are generally well tolerated, some health problems have been reported, including headaches.
