The most common chronic preexisting diseases in deceased patients were: arterial hypertension (70%), followed by diabetes mellitus (31.7%), chronic kidney disease CKD (23.1%), atrial fibrillation (22.5%), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (18.1%), the presence of an active cancer within the previous 5 years (16.8%), ischemic heart disease (16%) and obesity 10% [20].
