Famotidine has been proposed as a therapeutic against COVID‐19, and a clinical trial is underway. 245  It is used to treat peptic ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease, among others. Cimetidine is a similar drug and has also been suggested as a treatment for COVID‐19.
