The effects of grape seed extract on pre-hypertension patients were tested. Results of the study in question, showed a reduction of blood pressure (both systolic and diastolic), with improved fasting insulin and insulin sensitivity after 6 weeks of supplementation, but no significant change in sICAM-1 plasma concentration (Park et al., 2016). Furthermore, in a single blinded crossover trial including patients with untreated mild hypertension, cold-pressed chokeberry juice and dried chokeberry powder induced a reduction of IL-10 and TNF-α levels (Loo et al., 2016).
