For nearly all cases of a significantly changed phosphorylation site, no corresponding significant change in protein abundance was observed (Figure 1J), further suggesting that phosphorylation signaling represents a primary host response over this time course of infection as opposed to transcriptional regulation, which would influence protein abundance.
