Although high consumption of sea fish may lead to the health risks of metal exposure, a research on the concentrations of metals (Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb and Zn) of fishermen found that there was no health risk from most of the metals, because they did not exceed their related reference doses, even if the daily fish consumption of residents was as high as 283, 366 and 469 g/day in children, women of childbearing age and the remaining population groups, respectively [33]. Overall, sea fish consumption is positively related to longevity in China as long as the consumption is not too much.
