However, we might want to analyze datasets in which only a proportion of the case-parent trios have been phased. This could occur, for example, if some of the case-parent trios have been genotyped only at a candidate SNP (so there are no surrounding SNPs to provide phase information), whereas other trios have been more densely genotyped. Thus, we actually need to consider the counts from 17 cells, with cells 9, 9a, and 9b all considered as separate categories.
