Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a common sensory-motor disorder with a similar female predominance. The 1-year prevalence is estimated at 2–15 %, and the approximate female-to-male ratio is 2:1 [14, 15]. The International Restless Legs Study Group (IRLSSG) has defined diagnostic criteria for RLS according to its typical clinical presentation [14]. Unlike migraine, RLS prevalence increases with age and peaks after the 50s [15–22].
