Interfering RNA (siRNA)-Based Therapy siRNA, also known as short interfering RNA or silencing RNA, is a class of double-stranded RNA molecules 21-23 bp in length, that functions within the RNAi pathway to interfere with the expression of specific genes with complementary nucleotide sequences by degrading mRNA after transcription, thus leading to the disruption of protein translation and post-transcriptional gene silence [122, 123] .
