The MDA is also performed inside the chip, but with the integrated Au resistive heater serving as heat source. The set up shown schematically in Figure 12. The same procedure is followed as with the water bath heated test. Denaturation is done in a separate water bath. The heater is driven by an input potential of 3.2 V to get to a temperature of 30 °C and at the end of the reaction, the system is heated up to 65 °C by applying a potential of 9.2 V in order to terminate the amplification. In Figure 14 the logged temperature during the amplification is shown.
